RITA & TRUETT SMITH LIBRARY BOARD BOARD MEETING The Library Board of the city of Wylie met in regular session on January 8, 2001 at the Library at 7:00 p.m. The attendees were:
1. Approval of the Minutes. Minutes were approved as read from the November 13, 2000, meeting.
The checkout policy for equipment has been changed on the circulation policy. It is now $10.00 a day with a maximum of $200 for a check-out of a overhead projector. This is the only change for the policy. The Library staff has had problems with noise and destruction of the library tables in the Bluebonnet Room. The policy has been changed to require all participants who are doing craft projects to cover the table before using it. In addition, they will be required to keep noise to a minimum. There were increases in circulation each month during the first quarter of the year. The board was pleased with the increases. There was a discussion about the Greeting Card Page fundraiser. The program has been ongoing for at least ten years, and the amount of funds generated has reduced significantly over the last three years. The board agreed that they would help with phone calls next year and they hope this will increase the participation. NEW BUSINESS There was a request to move the March Board meeting from March 12 to March 19. Mignon will be out of town at a library automation conference March 7-9. Announcements were made about March and April programs. OLD BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT |
