RITA & TRUETT SMITH LIBRARY BOARD
BOARD MEETING
The Library Board of the city of Wylie met in regular session on
October 8, 2001 at the Library. The attendees were:

Grace Morrison

1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the September 10, 2001, meeting.
- Discuss Monthly report.
The September statistics increased significantly over last year.
Library Card month was successful, and there were 200 new library card
signups. Eric Hogue and Mignon Morse visited all four campuses to
promote the Library.
- Discuss FY 2001 Annual Report.
The Library had a busy and productive year. There was a 36% increase
in circulation over last year. Other statistics increased too. Programs
were well attended. The Board was pleased with the statistics.
4. Discuss Greeting Card Page.
Mignon distributed the calling list to the Library Board. The Friends
are planning to meet on October 25 to stuff envelopes and prepare
individual letters for mailing. The board and friends will receive
emails to let them know when the letters are mailed. At that time, they
will call their list of names and let them know to expect a letter.
Follow-up calls will be done after Thanksgiving. The deadline for
submission is December 10.
5. Discuss Christmas Party.
Further details will be discussed at the November meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Dog Month will be in October. Programs start on October 9.
There will be an informational financial seminar at the Library on
November 1.
