Building Inspection
The Building Department is comprised of the following divisions:
Building Inspections, Building Permits and Code Enforcement. The
mission of the department is to ensure the safety and welfare of
the general public by enforcing building, electrical, plumbing and
mechanical code regulations within the City. Enforcement is achieved
through plan review prior to the issuance of a permit and on-site
inspections, and after permit issuance, to verify compliance throughout
the construction process. The Code Enforcement division provides
quality services for the protection and promotion of the health,
safety, welfare, property value and environment of the citizens
of Wylie. Compliance is gained by focusing public education on the
City's codes and state laws relevant to nuisance, zoning, environment
and consumer health standards.
