For full-time positions, we require Texas Firefighter and Paramedic certifications to apply. See Firefighter Qualifications ^top Yes, we require a pre-employment drug test and non-invasive physical to be successfully passed prior to any job offer being final. Criminal history checks are also conducted and some jobs may require a full Personal History Statement and other pre-employment testing such as polygraph examinations. ^top The City of Wylie maintains “Job Files” for each open position. All applications for that position stay in that file for the time mandated by law, usually three years and then the job files are destroyed.
