Alarm Permits and Monitoring
Alarm Permits
Per City of Wylie ordinance 2000-01, all monitored residential and
business alarms are required to obtain a permit from the City of Wylie.
Permits must be on file, regardless of the monitoring agency. Permits
are currently $100 annually ($50 for Burglar alarms and $50 for Miscellaneous:
robbery, fire, medical, panic, etc.).

Permit Application |
To sign up for a new permit,
renew a permit or make changes to a permit. Permit fee(s)
must accompany application.

Disabled Notification Form |
To certify that home security
system has been disabled and does not require an alarm permit.
If the City of Wylie responds to an activated alarm at a home
or business that has a “Disabled Alarm” form on
file, the homeowner or business will be cited for failure
to have an alarm permit, which is a $250 fine plus court fees.

Direct Alarm Monitoring
On October 1, 2003, the City of Wylie began offering Direct
Alarm Monitoring to homeowners and businesses at no monthly
fee. Direct Alarm monitoring by Police and Fire Departments
has been known to reduce Public Safety response times by as
much as 80%.

Yard signs and window decals are distributed to participants of Direct
Alarm Monitoring.
Residences utilizing Direct Alarm Monitoring are responsible for
all repairs to home alarm system. If alarm is inadvertently set-off,
