Wylie Fire Department Personnel 2003
The Wylie Fire Department, established in 1909, services approximately sixty square miles of a rural Southeast Collin County, including contracted service to the City of St. Paul. Our extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) includes service to a portion of Dallas County, Rockwall County, and Lake Lavon. The population within our city limits is approximately 30,000. Population within the City of Wylie includes a large percentage of elderly citizens with a growing number of young families and businesses who seek the smaller town atmosphere.

WFD currently staffs two fire stations, 24/7, with “Quint” fire companies and three MICU ambulances serving the Southeast Collin County Coalition with an approximate population of 50,000. Additional staffing includes the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, EMS Captain, Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector/Investigator and administrative personnel.
