In addition to its various divisions, WPD provides a number of
services for Wylie residents. Listed below are some of these services.
Bicycle Safety Training
WPD provides bicycle safety training for children.
Block Parties
WPD works with neighborhood groups to coordinate street closures
for block parties.
Child Safety Seat Inspections
WPD offers free inspections of child car safety seats. Contact one

Citizen Ride Along
Citizens can get firsthand experience of an officer’s role
by signing up for a ride along.
Fingerprinting
WPD offers fingerprinting for Wylie residents, WISD employees and
all military personnel.
Free Gunlocks
WPD provides free gunlocks for residents.
Home Security Evaluations
WPD offers free evaluations of resident’s home security systems.
Neighborhood Watch
WPD assists in helping residents establish a neighborhood watch.
Police Department Tours
WPD offers tours of facilities, vehicles and departmental operations
to individuals as well as community groups.
Security for Special Events
Officers are able work off-duty as security for special events.
Self Defense for Women
WPD offers “Self Defense for Women” training for groups.
