Q. What is the Wylie
Wave Program?
A. Wylie Wave is the City’s summer day camp
program which provides children with activities that promote physical
fitness, education, and good citizenship, as well as develop motor
skills, character and self-esteem. These activities will include
swimming, sports and interest camps, games, field trips, arts &
crafts, and service projects. Registration is limited, so plan to
register early.
Each year we are able to offer a unique camp experience for four
distinct age groups:
Puddle Jumpers – 1st - 2nd graders
Waveriders – 3rd – 4th graders
Wavesurfers – 5th - 6th graders
Waverunners -7th & 8th graders
To better serve the needs of our campers, we are able to specialize
the camps to the distinctive characteristics of each of the groups
while maintaining the level of fun that has been a tradition of
the Wave program. Each group will follow their own daily schedule
with activities that are age-appropriate and of interest to that
group.

A. All cancellations must be made in writing. You
may cancel a registered week(s) without penalty until May 16, 2008.
Beginning on May 17, 2008, any cancellations will result in fees
being charged as described below:
Regular Campers—activity fees are non-refundable.
Any cancellations will result in a charge of $35.00 per week cancelled.
You will not be responsible for tuition for the week cancelled.
All cancellation fees must be paid at the time the change is made
and prior to your child returning to camp. This fee also applies
if your child is registered for a week and does not attend.
Scholarship campers—the cancellation fee will be
equal to the scholarship camp fee for the registered week(s). All
cancellation fees must be paid at the time the change is made and
prior to your child returning to camp. This fee also applies if
your child is registered for a week and does not attend.

Q. Can I add a week(s)
after initial registration?
A. If space allows, you may add weeks after initial
registration. This request must be done in writing and must be accompanied
by the activity fee of $15.00 per additional week. In previous years,
camp weeks reached maximum capacity very early during the registration
process. It is best to plan ahead as much as possible, as it is
unlikely that space will be available.

Q. Do you offer
Scholarships?
A. A limited number of reduced camp fee scholarships
for those who qualify will be available on a first-come, first-serve

be qualified for any of the following government issued assistance
programs—Free or Reduced Lunch program, Food Stamps, Medicaid,
WIC, foster care/ward of the state, Temporary Assistance to Needy
Families. Proof of this assistance, such as a determination letter,
must accompany the registration form at time of application in order
to be considered for a scholarship. The reduced fee scholarship
for those on the Free School Lunch program is $10.00 per week and
for those on the Reduced School Lunch program is $15.00 per week.
The reduced fee scholarship for those children not on the school
lunch program who are qualified by one of the other government assistance
programs will be determined by consultation with staff but will
not exceed $15.00 per week.
Payment of one week’s camp fee must be made at registration.
Beginning the second week your camper is enrolled, camp fees are
due by Monday at 6:00pm. If camp fees are paid after 6:00pm Monday,
