This process begins each April with solicitation of applicants to fill expiring or vacant terms on city boards and commissions. Current board and commission members, whose terms are expiring, may reapply for their position on the board or commission and participate in a modified reappointment process, similar to new applicants.
Citizens interested in applying for the first time, may apply:

- Print and mail their application to the City Secretary Office, Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Road, Building 100.
- Pick up and fill out an application at the City Secretary Office, Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Road, Building 100.
- E-mail your printed application to firstname.lastname@example.org
All applications are kept on file for one year. The application deadline is May 17.
Beginning late May/early June, a three-member City Council panel will volunteer their time to visit with all new applicants prior to making their nominations for appointments. This is an opportunity for both Council and the applicant to visit informally about the community and board appointment. At a City Council meeting, the City Council will make all nominations and appointments in open session. All applicants will be contacted after the appointments are official.
