When City employees found out that Police Sgt. Curtis Smith's daughter Makenzie has Friedreich's Ataxia, a degenerative neurological disorder that attacks the nervous system, they gathered in a show of support to help convince Extreme Home Makeover to build a much needed home to accommodate Makenzie's needs.
The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City of Wylie and is appointed by the Council to implement and administer the policies established by the Council. The City Manager is responsible for making recommendations concerning policies and programs to the Council and developing methods to insure the efficient operation of the city services. The department accounts for all expenditures related to the City Manager and support staff.
