Wylie Fire-Rescue would like to remind the citizens of Wylie that fireworks within the city limits or within 1,000 feet of the city limits are illegal and should not be used or transported. 

There are many local firework displays in and around the area.  Wylie Fire-Rescue does not promote the use of fireworks, and we encourage you to attend a professionally ran fireworks display, such as the City of Wylie's, rather than purchasing your own.  Many cities offer firework exhibits, listen to your local radio stations or visit city websites to find these events.  All legal displays will have fire, police and medical responders at the event.

We know that occasionally individals and/or families will seek out places to use fireworks.  If you plan on purchasing your own fireworks, please play it safe and follow these safety tips.
