Retired United States Flags
Gettysburg Flag Works has a great program for retired flags. Once they collect the flags, volunteer groups clean the flags, cut all 50 stars out and put them in a small plastic bag with a card that reads, "I am part of our American flag that has flown over a home in the U.S.A. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds have caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you are not forgotten." Each star is then handed to, mailed or sent with care packages to American soldiers or a veteran. The remains of the flag are disposed of properly. Every part of this is done with dignity and pride.

Wylie Fire Rescue has chosen to be a part of this wonderful program. If you would like to donate your tattered and torn flag, please drop your flag off at WFR's Fire Administration at 2000 N. Hwy. 78, Wylie, TX  75098 or Fire Station One, located at 1401 S. Ballard, Wylie TX  75098. Personnel will be sending collected flags to Gettysburg Flag Works. Thanks for your support!
