Wylie Fire Rescue offers several services or programs to the citizens of Wylie, in addition to emergency medical care and fire protection. Some of our busier programs have individual pages that you may access through our main page. Other programs or topics which you may find helpful are listed below:
Citizens ride-outs are available for citizens to ride out with WFR on a pre-scheduled basis. Citizens wishing to ride out with WFR must complete a release of liability form (this form must be notarized, and a notary is available at WFR's administrative office). Citizens must also abide by the rules and safety regulations established to ensure the safety of the citizen(s) and fire personnel. Click here for some general guidelines. To schedule a date to ride please call 972-941-8961 or email us.
- Child Safety Seat Inspections
Many citizens request car seat inspections. Currently, the City of Wylie does not have any certified car seat inspectors. To find a certified installer, please connect to www.seatcheck.org.
- Adult Protective Services
If you are concerned about the care an aging or challenged adult is receiving, don't wait! Call our non-emergency number at 972-442-8171 to report it. First responders and/or police officers will check on the individual to see if the individual is in need of immediate care. You can also call the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at 1-800-252-5400 for a more detailed report about your concerns.
Home inspections are voluntary and offered as a FREE service to the citizens of Wylie and those in WFR's fire jurisdiction. If you would like to schedule your free inspection, please contact fire prevention by email or call the office at 972-442-8110. You may also click on the above "Home Inspection" title and get a detailed list of items inspectors will be looking at when visiting your home.
