Wylie Fire-Rescue, established in 1909, services approximately sixty square miles of a rural SoutheastCollinCounty, including contracted service to the City of St. Paul. Our extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) includes service to a portion of DallasCounty, RockwallCounty, and LakeLavon. The population within our city limits is approximately 40,000. Population within the City of Wylie includes a large percentage of elderly citizens with a growing number of young families and businesses who seek the smaller town atmosphere. WFR currently staffs three fire stations, 24/7, with "Quint" fire companies and three MICU ambulances serving the Southeast Collin County E.M.S. Coalition with an approximate population of 60,000. Additional staffing includes the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, EMS Captain, Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector/Investigator and administrative personnel.
