There is no greater responsibility for the City of Wylie than to protect the public and ensure that everyone is ready to respond to and recover from a natural or man-made emergency or disaster. The Emergency Management Department coordinates emergency planning, training and recovery efforts in the midst of disasters within the City of Wylie. Such events include fires, flooding, severe weather, acts of terrorism, criminal acts and/or any major event in the city that requires involvement of multiple city departments. The City of Wylie also works with other municipalities, state and federal agencies. The private sector is very important to the City of Wylie, as its involvement in community outreach, education and community preparedness activities helps extend our capabilities.
The City of Wylie's Emergency Operations Center (EOC), normally located at the City of Wylie's Public Safety Building, is temporarily located in City Hall, 300 Country Club Rd., Bldg. 1, due to the hail storms. EOC processes follow the NIMS (National Incident Management System).
