News & Events
Monday 2/18/19 from 5:00-7:00pm
Brought to you by the Teen Library Council
Do you consider yourself a writer? A lyricist? A poet in the making?
Sign-up for our poetry café as put on by the SPL Teen Library Council.
We’ll be spending an evening listening to Wylie’s young poets, complete with refreshments and set in a Parisian atmosphere in our Multi-Purpose Room. This is not a contest, simply a showcase of our area’s young talent.
We encourage all creative individuals in 4th-12th grade to sign up in the Teen Room now through Saturday 2/9/19 for this performance opportunity. Ability to attend the mandatory rehearsal on 2/16/19 between 3:00-5:00pm is required.
All poems scheduled to be performed are subject to prior approval. Once registered, please submit your chosen poem to Kelsey.Sidwell@wylietexas.gov by 2/9/19.
For more information, please call 972-516-6264 or visit our Teen Room.

TV (Teen Volunteer)
The deadline for applications for the Fall semester has passed. If spots are available for the spring semester, the application will be re-posted here on 1/7/19.
Applications for summer volunteering will be posted here on 4/20/19.
Please note that teen volunteer slots are limited and not guaranteed. We typically receive at least twice as many applications as we have spots available, so answering the short essay questions on the application thoughtfully is incredibly important. You must be at least 13 years old to be considered as a Teen Volunteer. Previous volunteer experience with the library does not guarantee a spot.
General TV (teen volunteer) Info:
Teen Volunteer applications are posted here in April for summer volunteering opportunities and in August for slots during the school year. Unfortunately, because of the training time needed in order to volunteer, we do not have the ability to offer one-day or short-term volunteer opportunities. All teen volunteers attend an orientation and training session provided by a staff member.
