Borrowers must be 18 years or older and have a Smith Public Library card in good standing with fines no greater than $5.00.

Limit to (1) one Wi-Fi hotspot per household at any given time.

Hotspots may be checked out for (7) seven days and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, hotspots may be placed on hold, but the library cannot guarantee availability for a specific date or time. Hotspots are able to be renewed up to (2) two times as long as there are no holds from other library users.

Overdue hotspots will have Internet access disabled and there is a $.50 per day extended use fee.

A lost, damaged or stolen hotspot will have a replacement cost of $100 (device replacement fee: $85 + replacement parts and processing fee: $15). Additionally, for any part missing upon return, there will be a replacement parts and processing fee of $15.

Tips & Troubleshooting

Ensure the hotspot is charged.

The network name (SSID) and password are located on the back of the hotspot.

If the device is not connecting to the network, press and hold the Power key for 10 seconds to restart the device.

If the device is damaged or malfunctioning, it should be returned to the library. Please see a staff member when returning a damaged device - do not use the book return.
