City Secretary's Office
COVID-19 PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT PROTOCOL
Due to the pandemic and the CDC’s ongoing recommendations, the City of Wylie has determined only a skeleton crew will be working until April 3, 2020. The Attorney General does not count skeleton crew days observed by a governmental body as business days for the purpose of calculating deadlines under the Texas Public Information Act. Therefore, any requests received while the City of Wylie continues to operate with only a skeleton crew will be processed upon the City of Wylie's full staff returning to work. Please note, the dates requiring a skeleton crew may change or be altered as the information and decisions made related to the pandemic are constantly changing. We appreciate your understanding and patience at this time. If you have any questions, please contact the City Secretary's Office at 972-516-6020.
Under Section 552.301(a) of the Open Records Act, a verbal request may require a written request to be submitted by the requestor. This Section has been amended to include a request made by electronic mail or facsimile transmission.
Please be advised that as a requestor of public information, you are subject to a copy charge of 10 cents for each page of your request for copies. Subchapter F of the Open Records Act, Sections 552.261 through 552.272, govern the charges for copies of and access to public information.
As a requestor, you may choose to have access to public information or copies of the information, or both. Should your request for copies contain 50 or fewer pages of paper, we will charge for photocopying only. However, should your request for copies require staff time to transport from more than one building or storage facility or personnel time spent to format or obscure confidential information contained within a record containing both confidential and public information, you may be assessed charges for materials, labor and overhead. If the documents are stored at our offsite facility there will be a transportation fee of $15 plus retrieval fees of $5 totaling $20 plus the copy charge of $.10 per page. A written statement as to the amount of time that was required to produce and provide the copy will be signed by the officer providing the public information. This statement is available to you upon request at no additional cost.
Your request will be forwarded to the appropriate department for processing and you will be contacted within ten (10) business days from the date of your request. If your request cannot be fulfilled within ten (10) business days, either for inspection or copies, you will be notified in writing of a date and hour when this information will be available to you.Submit a Public Information Request
