Wylie Fire Rescue is happy to offer CPR and AED training to citizens and local business.
Class Times / Locations: We offer a CPR classes regularly. Locations vary but they are all held within the Wylie city limits.

Payment: Cash/Check - All checks for the card course and materials should be made out to the City of Wylie.
Personalized Instruction for your group / business is available: If you would like to have a course at your business we can have an instructor come to your business and teach the course. You may contact the instructor directly to set a date/time. See below for contact information. The fees are the same.
The American Heart Association courses will provide you with the most current methods and treatment options in healthcare. The instruction staff is experienced and genuinely enjoys teaching with enthusiasm. We also have courses for individuals who do not work in healthcare, but would like to be trained to help in an emergency. All of our licensed instructors are firefighter/paramedics certified through Texas Department of Health. Upon successfully completing the course, you will be given a certified American Heart Association card that will be valid for two years.
Wylie Fire Rescue offers numerous course levels through the American Heart Association to meet the individual needs of the community.
HEALTHCARE PROVIDER is designed for healthcare providers who have a duty to respond to a medical emergency. This would include hospital staff, dental offices, physician offices, home health, nursing home staff, and physical fitness trainers. Course length: 3-4 hours
HEARTSAVER FIRST AID (Adult and Pediatric) is designed for the child or adult basic rescuers, including foster parents, adoptive parents, lifeguards, child care providers, and public or corporate first responder teams. Course length: 4-5 hours
HEARTSAVER AED is designed for those who have access to an Automated External Defibrillator, including airport staff, hotel staff, arena staff, or responder teams. Course length: 2-3 hours
Each student MUST have a student manual. We can provide the books with the course or you can purchase one on your own before class. An electronic version of the manual is also available by the name of Ebooks. You can obtain these electronic versions at www.ebook.heart.org . You will be required to bring the book to class to use it during the course.

Airway management techniques
Heartsaver First Aid: Under the 2010 AHA guidelines this course is considered a specialty program. There are many modules to include or exclude depending on the participants' needs.
Designed for the basic rescuers, this course includes those having personal reasons for taking the course, such as foster parenting (age group 8 years and up), adoption, child care (age group 8 years and up), and corporate/group responder teams. If you are not sure if your profession requires this level please contact our office.
Course offering includes adult CPR, child CPR, and/or infant CPR or a combination of procedures. The CPR portion includes one-rescuer CPR, choking, airway delivery devices, and more. The first aid portion includes common work place medical emergencies and appropriate care of victims of heart attacks, strokes, seizures, diabetes, bleeding, stings, spinal injuries and more. The course integrates the newly released American Heart Association First Aid curriculum.
Heartsaver AED: Designed for those who have access to an automated external defibrillator (AED), including those wishing to take the course for personal reasons, airport staff, hotel staff, arena/stadium staff, and corporate/group responder teams. If you are not sure if your profession requires this level please contact our office. Course includes adult procedures for one-rescuer CPR, choking, airway delivery devices, and extensive hands-on AED training. This course is offered for private training for corporations or groups who are establishing an AED response team. Limited seating is available for private individuals.
