X-Treme Green Event

The City of Wylie and Community Waste Disposal are pleased to provide RESIDENTIAL collection and disposal services for:
- Household hazardous waste
- Household metal appliances
- Automotive tires
- Document shredding
Brush and bulk items will not be accepted.
X-Treme Green is a service for Wylie residents only, defined as those who lives in the Wylie city limits and pay City of Wylie property tax. Residents are asked to bring their most recent City of Wylie utility bill (water, trash collection and/or sewer), which will be reviewed by staff at the event, along with a valid driver’s license or other government-issued ID.Household Hazardous Waste:

*Acceptable maximum amount per residence is three appliances per event. Freon must be removed from the refrigerator and the unit tagged "Freon removed by a trained professional."

Attendant will load papers into the shredding machine and the resident can watch it being shredded through a window.
Individuals that appear to be delivering these items from a business, whether run out of a residence or not, will be rejected or charged a separate special handling fee. City and/or contractor may reject unusual volumes of hazardous waste, electronics, household metal appliances, automotive tires or documents for shredding. Unusual volumes will be determined by:
- Any one material whereas the accumulated weight exceeds 500 pounds.
- Any one material whereas the accumulated volumes exceed 1 cubic yard.
- Any multiple items that accumulated volume exceeds 4 cubic yards.
