Update 03/13/2020, 7 am - Senior Recreation Center Closure
City of Wylie officials continue to monitor the coronavirus and its impact on the region and our community. In order to protect our high-risk senior population, the Senior Recreation Center will initially be closed through March 20, with the potential for an extended closure dependent upon virus updates. Health experts have recommended that gatherings of citizens age 60 and over should be limited to no more than 10 people.
City staff will remain in contact with our seniors to help ensure they are safe and well.
"We have decided to take proactive steps focused on the safety of our citizens," said Mayor Hogue. "Our staff continues to monitor this threat and we are working with our federal, state and local officials to do our best to ensure the well-being of our citizens."
