02/18/2021
-CWD trash/recycling service canceled through Friday. The regular pick-up schedule resumes Monday, Feb. 22. Three extra bags placed by the trash bin will be accepted. Expect delays; please leave bins and trash out until serviced.
-Pipe Breaks: Teams made up of police, public works, parks, and fire personnel are ready to assist in shutting off residential and commercial water in the event of a pipe break. Know how to shut off your water, but if you need assistance call 972-516-6030.

-All City Facilities including City Hall, Recreation Center and Library to reopen Monday.
-The Burnett warming center is officially closing at 1 pm today. WISD, City staff, area churches and volunteers are assisting residents to return to their home. The warming center is closing, but if you need assistance, call 972-516-6030.
-Please continue to conserve water, power and gas.

02/17/2021
-Warming station open at Burnett Jr. High, 516 Hilltop Ln. is open 24 hours a day. Call 972-516-6030 for transportation if you do not have the means to get to the warming center. New Hope Church will also operate a warming station from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
-All City Facilities including City Hall, Recreation Center and Library closed through Friday.
-CWD residential/commercial trash service, including bulk pickup are cancelled for Wed., Feb. 17 and Thur. Feb. 18. They are working on a plan for later in the week, but do not have enough information to make a decision at this time.
-Please continue to conserve energy, water and gas.

-Warming station open at Burnett Jr. High, 516 Hilltop Ln. 24 hours a day. Call 972-516-6030 for transportation if you do not have the means to get to the warming center.
-Please continue to conserve water. Power outages have limited the ability to refill the Creekside tank. Water service will continue and is safe.
-New Hope Church will also operate a warming station tomorrow, Tuesday, from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
-All City Facilities including City Hall, Recreation Center and Library closed Tuesday.
-The WEDC meeting scheduled for February 17, 8:30 a.m., has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

-Don't assume someone else has reported that power is out. Please report outages to Oncor, stormcenter.oncor.com/.
-Power outage, frozen pipes, trees down, streetlight outage, road conditions ... please report non-emergency issues using https://tinyurl.com/26m8ssbp to help public safety monitor and respond to the ongoing winter event. Do not use this form to report an emergency, still use 911.

02/13/2021 Mayor Porter Signs Declaration of Local Disaster

Mayor Matthew Porter signed a Declaration of Local Disaster today following the Governor's declaration signed yesterday. This enables the City to take any necessary action to protect the public in light of the record cold temperatures and impending severe winter weather. In the event of power outages, plans are being made for warming centers or emergency sheltering. The declaration also enables the city to be reimbursed for expenditures
