In early Summer 2020, the Wylie City Council approved a Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan to provide direction for park expansion, park redevelopment, and new park development to serve the growing population of Wylie.

2010 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan
The Wylie Parks & Recreation Department maintains one of the fastest growing parks systems in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Currently, the City of Wylie features more than 330 developed acres of city parkland including city parks, public parks, park area dedication, open space, and preserve. In 2010, the Wylie City Council approved a Parks Master Plan to serve as a blueprint for Wylie's park system development to fulfill the growing community's needs.
